Start a Chapter!

Start a Chapter of Youth for Common Sense at your school and create a space for thoughtful and respectful political discourse to thrive.

What is it?

Built by students for students, we want you to build a Youth for Common Sense Club that works for your school. Our clubs are modeled to be similar to a current events club where you invite people interested in talking about the most pressing issues in our country and the world from a diverse set of viewpoints. Whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, or somewhere in between, we want this to be a place where you feel comfortable giving your opinion and listening to the people in your school who feel differently than you.

How does it work?

The process for starting a club differs from school to school, however getting materials and support from is always going to be the same. Our process is simple, fill out the form below and let us know some basic info about yourself. After that someone on our team will set up a short video call with you where we will help answer any of your questions and explain how we can help support you once you have your club up and running. At that point we will send you our starter kit full of posters and other materials so you can get started at your school!

What We Are About

Engaging Discussions.jpg

Engaging Discussions

At every meeting, we focus on the most pressing issues facing our country. Led by club leaders and members, we want these discussions to act as a way to discuss and debate many of these issues. Whether it be Gun Control or Immigration.

All Political Views

This space is not supposed to be a place for only one political belief. In each club we hope to bring in political beliefs from every part of the spectrum. Whether you identify as a Republican, a Democrat, or something entirely different this is a space for you.

Agree to Disagree

In our clubs, you will not always agree and find comfort in the things that other members say and thats okay. Being apart of this space means pushing to have productive uncomfortable conversations with people who you disagree with.
